Designing your Album

7th December 2017

Some of you will have purchased an album from me and will be wondering how to get started with the design process. Here I will explain a little about how it works and how you can decide which photos make it into the final design.

Your main input will be which photos you would like to make it into the album, as I want to make sure all of your favourite moments feature. I tend to ask you to choose around 70 of your favourite shots, which I then surround with scene setting shots and details to tell your wedding day story.

Here’s how you choose your favourite photos from your online gallery:

Head into your gallery and click the “Select photos” button at the top right of the page:

Then select your favourite shots simply by clicking on them, making sure they are all ticked in the corner as shown below:

Once all the photos you want to include are selected, click the “Add to Favourites” button at the top of the page:

All the selected photos will now be sent to your “Favourites” folder in the top left corner of the screen. To see which photos you’ve selected you can click on the “My Selection” button next to it, or hit the “Edit my Selection” button from the drop down menu:

This will take you to your “Favourites” folder. To send all the photos directly to me, click the “Share Favourites” button at the top right of the page:

A little message box will then pop up where you can write me a little message like any extra instructions, for example which photo you would like as your front cover. Be sure to check that you are on the “Share to Photographer” tab so that the message comes directly to me. Then hit “Share” and you’re done!

Once I receive your favourites, I will get to work creating your first draft. Please note that I mainly create album drafts in the winter months due to shooting a larger number of weddings in the summer months.

I send you your album draft as a digital proof via email, so keep a look out for it! Once it comes through, you can  let me know your comments if any changes need to be made and I will send you revised drafts until its perfect.

Once you approve the final album design, I send it to print! Please note that printing can take up to 2 weeks after the design is approved.

Thanks for reading and happy Album Designing!! xx
